Builds a SWOT analysis for a business idea or decision, then turns it into three practical next steps.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you are weighing an idea, a product or a move and want to think it through.

One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.

name: swot-analysis
description: Build a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) for a business, idea or decision. Use when the user asks for a SWOT or to evaluate an idea.
---
Build a SWOT analysis.
1. Ask for anything essential that is missing: what is being assessed,
who it is for, and the main competitor or alternative.
2. Fill the four boxes with three to five specific points each:
- Strengths and Weaknesses: inside the business, things it controls.
- Opportunities and Threats: outside it, things it does not.
3. Mark each point that is an assumption with (assumption).
4. Finish with "What to do next": three actions that use a strength,
fix a weakness or answer a threat.
Keep points concrete. "Good team" is not a point; "two engineers who
have shipped a payments app" is.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/swot-analysis
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/swot-analysis/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# do a SWOT analysis for my bakery idea
# or run it by name:
# /swot-analysis

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
