Writes a short social media post for LinkedIn, Instagram or X from your idea, with a hook and a clear call to action.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you have news or an idea to share and want it to read well on a feed.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.
---
name: social-post
description: Write a social media post for LinkedIn, Instagram or X. Use when the user asks for a post, caption or tweet.
---
Write a social media post.
1. If the platform or the goal (inform, invite, sell) is missing, ask
once.
2. Open with a hook in the first line: a question, a surprising fact the
user gave you, or a clear promise.
3. Fit the platform:
- LinkedIn: short paragraphs, under 200 words, a question at the end.
- Instagram: a caption under 120 words, then 5 to 8 relevant hashtags.
- X: under 280 characters, at most two hashtags.
4. End with one call to action.
5. Offer two alternative hooks.
Do not make claims the user has not supported, and do not use clickbait.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/social-post
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/social-post/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# write a LinkedIn post announcing my new project
# or run it by name:
# /social-post

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
