Write search-friendly page titles and meta descriptions that fit the usual length limits and match the page.
WHEN TO USE IT
When a web page needs a better title or description for search results.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.

name: seo-meta-tags
description: Write an SEO page title and meta description for a web page, within typical length limits. Use when the user asks for a meta description, an SEO title or better search snippets.
---
Write a search title and meta description for the user's page.
1. If the essential details are missing (what the page is about, who it is for, and the main search phrase), ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Write three options. For each give:
- Title: about 50 to 60 characters, main phrase near the start
- Meta description: about 120 to 160 characters, says what the reader gets
- Character counts for both
3. Show them in a table so they are easy to compare.
4. Say which option you would choose and why, in one sentence.
Rules:
- The text must match what is actually on the page; no promises it cannot keep.
- Do not stuff keywords or repeat the same phrase.
- Do not invent figures, ratings or claims such as "number one"; use [check] if a fact is needed.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/seo-meta-tags
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/seo-meta-tags/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# write a seo title and meta description for my pricing page
# or run it by name:
# /seo-meta-tags

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
