Writes a clear product description that explains benefits, key features and who it is for, without empty hype.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you are listing a product online and need copy that helps people decide.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.
---
name: product-description
description: Write a product description from product details and features. Use when the user asks for product copy, a listing description or text for an online store.
---
Write a product description.
1. If the product name, key features, target buyer or the platform is missing, ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Open with one sentence on what it is and who it is for.
3. Explain the main benefit: what problem it solves for the buyer.
4. List three to six features as bullets, each with the benefit it brings.
5. Add practical details: size, material, what is in the box, care (only those given).
6. Close with a short, calm call to action.
Output:
- A short version (under 50 words) for listings
- A full version (100 to 200 words)
- Five search keywords
Rules:
- Use only the specifications the user gave; write [check] for anything missing.
- No claims such as "best", "clinically proven" or "guaranteed" unless the user can back them up.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/product-description
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/product-description/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# write a product description for my handmade cotton tote bag
# or run it by name:
# /product-description

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
