Lay out a clean, complete invoice from your work details, with every line and total easy for the client to check.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you have finished work for a client and need to bill them.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.
---
name: invoice-draft
description: Draft a clear invoice from the user's work and client details. Use when the user asks for an invoice, a bill for a client or help charging for work.
---
Draft an invoice.
1. If the seller details, client details, items, rates or payment terms are missing,
ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Lay it out under these headings:
- Header: "Invoice", invoice number [number], issue date and due date.
- From and To: names and addresses as given.
- Items table: Description, Quantity, Rate, Amount.
- Totals: subtotal, tax lines [rate to confirm], total due.
- Payment details: method and reference [placeholder].
- Terms: due date and a polite late-payment note if they want one.
3. Show the arithmetic for each line and the totals.
Rules:
- Do not invent tax rates, registration numbers or bank details; use [check].
- Never ask for or write out full bank or card numbers; leave [placeholder].
- Tax rules differ by country; say this is a general layout and suggest they
confirm tax and invoice requirements with an accountant.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/invoice-draft
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/invoice-draft/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# make an invoice for the website i built for a client
# or run it by name:
# /invoice-draft

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
