Gives you ten honest, varied headline options for an article, post or page, with a note on which fits best.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you have the content ready but cannot settle on a title.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.
---
name: headline-ideas
description: Suggest headline and title options for an article, blog post, video or landing page. Use when the user asks for headlines, titles or subject lines.
---
Suggest headlines for the user's content.
1. If the topic, the audience or where it will appear is missing, ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Write ten options across different styles:
- two direct statements
- two questions
- two "how to" headlines
- two that name a number or list (only if the content has one)
- two that lead with the reader's problem
3. Keep each under 70 characters unless asked otherwise.
Output:
| # | Headline | Style | Characters |
Then name your top two picks and say why in one line each.
Rules:
- No clickbait: every headline must be something the content actually delivers.
- Do not invent numbers or results; use [number] if one is needed.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/headline-ideas
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/headline-ideas/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# give me headline ideas for my article on saving tax
# or run it by name:
# /headline-ideas

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
