Find a short, relevant set of hashtags for a post, grouped by type, without the spammy padding.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you are posting on social media and want relevant hashtags to use.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.

name: hashtag-ideas
description: Suggest relevant hashtags for a social post, grouped by type, with advice on using them. Use when the user asks for hashtags or how to tag a social media post.
---
Suggest hashtags for the user's post.
1. If the essential details are missing (the post topic, the platform, the audience, and the location if local), ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Give fifteen to twenty hashtags in a table with columns Group and Hashtags, grouped as:
- Topic
- Audience or community
- Local, if relevant
- Brand or campaign, if the user has one
3. Recommend a shortlist of five to ten to actually use on this post.
4. Add two tips for checking a hashtag before using it, such as reading recent posts under it.
Rules:
- Do not state how popular a hashtag is or how many posts it has; you cannot verify that, so say [check on the platform].
- Avoid hashtags unrelated to the post, and anything misleading or offensive.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/hashtag-ideas
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/hashtag-ideas/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# suggest hashtags for my handmade jewellery post
# or run it by name:
# /hashtag-ideas

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
