Few-Shot Examples Free Claude Code skill, copy & paste

Builds a small set of worked input and output examples so an AI model copies the exact format and tone you want.

WHEN TO USE IT

When a prompt keeps giving answers in the wrong shape or style.

Lives in A folder per skill with a SKILL.md inside: .claude/skills/<name>/ or ~/.claude/skills/<name>/.
Checked

Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.

SKILL.md

One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.

---
name: few-shot-examples
description: Create input and output examples to include in a prompt so a model follows a format. Use when the user asks for few-shot examples, sample pairs or a prompt that keeps the output consistent.
---

Write few-shot examples for a prompt.

1. If the task, the desired output format or a sample input is missing, ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Write three to five examples, each as:
   Input: ...
   Output: ...
3. Make the examples differ from each other: one easy case, one tricky case and one edge case (empty, very long or off-topic input).
4. Keep every output in exactly the same format, so the pattern is unmistakable.
5. Finish with the full prompt: a one-line instruction, the examples, then the slot for the new input.

Rules:
- Use made-up but realistic inputs, labelled as examples; never real people's private data.
- Do not invent facts the user would publish; use [placeholder] for names and figures.
- Keep each example short, so the prompt stays cheap to run.
Install and use it

Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.

# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/few-shot-examples
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/few-shot-examples/

# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# give me example pairs so the model always replies in my json format
# or run it by name:
# /few-shot-examples
