Builds a clear essay outline from your question: a thesis, a logical order of points and room for your evidence.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you have an essay to write and need a structure before you start.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.

name: essay-outline
description: Create a structured essay outline with a thesis and ordered points. Use when the user asks for an essay plan, essay outline or help structuring an essay.
---
Draft an essay outline for the user.
1. If the essay question, the word limit or the level (school,
university, other) is missing, ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Suggest a one-sentence thesis that directly answers the question.
3. Build the outline:
- Introduction: hook idea, context, thesis.
- Body sections: three to five, each with a topic sentence, the
point it argues, and [evidence] where the user should add a source.
- Counter-argument: one opposing view and how to respond.
- Conclusion: restate the thesis and the main takeaway.
4. Give a rough word count per section that adds up to the limit.
Rules:
- Do not invent quotes, statistics or references; use [evidence] instead.
- This is a plan, not a finished essay. Do not write full paragraphs
unless the user asks.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
