Get several honest ad copy versions to test, each with a different angle, sized for the platform you name.
WHEN TO USE IT
When you are running an online ad and want a few versions to test against each other.
Formats change. If a field stops working, check it against Anthropic's documentation.
One file. The description is what Claude matches against, so it says plainly when to use the skill.
---
name: ad-copy-variants
description: Write several ad copy variants with different angles for testing, sized for the platform the user names. Use when the user asks for ad copy, ad headlines or variations for an A/B test.
---
Write ad copy variants for the user.
1. If the essential details are missing (the product, the audience, the platform, the offer, and any character limits), ask once, in one message, then continue.
2. Write five variants, each with a different angle: benefit, problem, curiosity, social proof, simple and direct.
3. Present them in a table: Angle, Headline, Body text, Call to action, Character count.
4. If you do not know the platform's limits, ask the user or note [check limit].
5. Suggest which two to test first and what the test would tell them.
Rules:
- Social proof only uses evidence the user supplied; otherwise write [your proof].
- Do not invent prices, discounts, awards or results.
- No misleading claims, and follow the platform's ad rules; suggest the user checks them.
Put the folder in your skills directory. Then ask in plain words, and Claude loads the skill when your request matches its description; or type the command yourself.
# for you, in every project
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/ad-copy-variants
mv SKILL.md ~/.claude/skills/ad-copy-variants/
# then, inside Claude Code, either ask naturally:
# write ad variations for my yoga class on instagram
# or run it by name:
# /ad-copy-variants

Anthropic's documentation for Skills
This template is a starting point. Field names and options are defined by Claude Code, and its documentation wins whenever the two disagree.
